06 Nov Avastin as successful as Eylea for healing central retinal vein occlusion
Monthly eye shots of Avastin (bevacizumab) are equally as powerful as the expensive medication Eylea (aflibercept) for the treatment of central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), according to a clinical trial funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), a part of the National Institutes of Health. Following six monthly injections, therapy with drug improved visual acuity normally from 20/100 into 20/40.
